Why you should post your live as a reel

The opportunity for orders doesn't stop when the live session ends. Post your live as a reel and extend your offer to followers who missed the live session.

If you need a bit more convincing, let's talk numbers:

In a real-life example, we had 128 completed orders from Instagram, and no less than 46 of these came from the reel posted after the live was over. That means almost 36% of all Instagram orders came from the posted reel. That's a lot of orders to miss out on if you choose not to post.

Worried about aesthetics?

The most common reason for not posting is due to the live show not matching the aesthetic of the Instagram page, read on to learn how to solve that issue.

How to post your live as a reel

Posting your live show as a reel is done directly from the live archive in the Instagram app on a mobile device

Follow the steps below to access the live archive:

  1. While on your profile tap the menu (3 horizontal lines) button in the top right corner.
  2. Within this menu, tap the "Archive" button.
  3. Tap the dropdown at the top of the screen and switch from “Stories Archive” or "Post Archive" to “Live Archive.”
  4. You will then see your past completed live videos and be able to share it on Instagram or download them to your device.

Tip

If the video is posted within 60 minutes of the end time of the live event, it will automatically connect to the Sprii Campaign for continued shopping. Otherwise, you can connect an existing post under "channels" in your campaign.

How to change the reel's cover photo

One of the main reasons for not sharing the live after it's done is that it may not align with the feed and aesthetic of the page, but that's an easy problem to solve, as you can select the cover photo yourself to ensure it matches your brand.

Follow the steps below to change the cover photo of your live show:

  1. Go to the live archive and find your video. Follow the steps HERE to access the archive
  2. Press "share", after that you will be able to change the cover photo as well as write a caption, etc.
  3. Press on the current cover photo, this will give you the option to change it. You can either scroll through the frames from the live show to make a cover from it or choose "add from camera roll" to pick your own.
  4. Pick the image you want, press "done" in the top right corner, and then finish by sharing your reel
