Set up the Abandoned Cart plugin

Configure a reminder attempt before eligible unpaid carts are cleared and their stock is released.

YOU WILL LEARN

How to set up the Abandoned Cart plugin, and how to switch it on for a campaign you already created.

BEFORE YOU START

  • The Abandoned Cart feature enabled for your Page
  • A checkout integration that marks completed orders in Sprii on its own. Confirm it is working before you turn this on.

Set it up

  1. In Sprii, go to Page settings Page settings selected in Sprii navigation > Plugins Plugins selected under Page settings
  2. Find the Abandoned cart card and click Configure.

  3. If the plugin is inactive, click Activate plugin Activate plugin button. Then set the two timing values:

    • Minutes of no user activity before clearing the basket

Minutes of no user activity before clearing the basket field
    • How many minutes before clearing the basket should a reminder message be sent

Minutes before basket clearing to send a reminder field

Set the inactivity time to at least 5 minutes. The reminder value is how far before clearing Sprii attempts the warning; it must not exceed the inactivity time. For example, a 30-minute inactivity period and a 10-minute reminder lead gives the shopper about 10 minutes to act after the warning.

Note: Start clearing baskets only after live show has ended controls whether clearing can happen during a live. With it off, an eligible basket can be cleared after the full inactivity period even while the show is live. With it on, clearing cannot happen until the show has ended and a full inactivity period has passed after the show. Carts are not cleared after the campaign’s reservation deadline.

  4. Write the warning message. To tell the shopper when their cart will be cleared, add the Abandonded Cart Date token (spelled this way in Sprii) from the row under the field. It appears in your message as %abandonedCartDeadlineDate%.

  5. Click Save Save button for the plugin settings

Turn it on for a campaign you already have

A new campaign picks up the Page setting on its own. A campaign you created before now does not.

  1. In Sprii, go to Campaigns Campaigns selected in Sprii navigation, open that campaign and go to Setup Setup selected in the campaign steps
  2. Turn on Enable abandoned cart Enable abandoned cart turned on in campaign settings. The campaign change saves automatically.

The saved Page setting applies to new campaigns. An existing campaign also needs its Enable abandoned cart setting above before eligible unpaid carts can be cleared.

Limitations

Important: Sprii does not check whether your order tracking is working. A real purchase that still looks unpaid in Sprii can have its cart cleared and its stock released.

  • Sprii attempts the warning through Facebook or Instagram messaging. Shoppers who reserved through another channel cannot receive it. Meta may prevent delivery; clearing does not depend on a successful warning.
  • Clearing can make the stock available to a shopper on your waitlist. Whether they are offered it depends on the waitlist and whether Meta delivers the message. See Set up the waitlist.
  • The Abandoned Cart plugin is not the same as Send an abandoned cart reminder, which is a message you send manually from Orders.
