Stream your live show with multiple cameras (multicam)

Connect several cameras to one show and choose the picture and sound your viewers receive.

How multicam works

Multicam lets several devices stream into the same Sprii campaign. You switch between their pictures in Control Center and choose which microphones viewers hear.

What you need

  • One iPhone or iPad per camera, signed in to the Sprii Host App.
  • A stable connection with enough upload capacity for every camera: each sends its own stream.
  • A Live Shopping campaign and multicam available for your Sprii Page. Sprii administration must have enabled the Page’s multicam capability; the merchant plugin and campaign switches alone do not grant it.

Enable multicam

For your Page

  1. Go to Page settings Page settings selected in Sprii navigation > Plugins Plugins selected in Page settings. Find Streaming and click Configure.

  2. If the Streaming plugin is inactive, click Activate plugin Activate plugin button, separate from the multicam feature switch. Turn on Allows multiple devices to stream at the same time Switch shown on for the multicam Page setting. This feature switch is separate from plugin activation.
  3. Click Save Save button for the Page Streaming plugin settings

For your campaign

  1. In Campaigns Campaigns selected in Sprii navigation, open the campaign and go to Streaming Streaming selected in the campaign steps
  2. Under Multi-Device Streaming, turn on Enable multi-device streaming. The change saves immediately.

The picture shows the control before it is enabled. Check this choice on each campaign, including existing campaigns. For a single-camera show, leave it off and click Confirm single camera mode when prompted; the stream cannot start until you choose.

Connect and name your devices

  1. Open the Sprii Host App on each device and select the same campaign.
  2. Give each device a distinct, nonblank name when prompted. The app remembers the name.
  3. Start each camera using the Host App steps.
  4. Open Control Center Control center button and check that the cameras appear online.

Choose the picture and microphone

Select the camera whose picture viewers should see. The other cameras stay connected so you can switch to them during the show. How quickly viewers see a change depends on their connection.

Microphones work independently of picture selection. You can show Camera 2 while using the microphone from Camera 1. Mute every microphone you do not want in the show: all unmuted devices contribute sound.

If a camera drops out

Connected cameras can continue when another disconnects. A holding screen appears if all devices used by the configured layout are disconnected. Reconnecting a device lets the show recover, but the viewer experience depends on the network.

Limits and devices

Number of cameras: Capacity depends on the selected layout and Page configuration. Check the available capacity for your setup before the show.

Picture and sound: The selected picture does not choose the microphone. Choose picture and sound separately. If every device is muted, viewers hear no Host App audio.

Devices: The Sprii Host App runs on iPhone and iPad.
