      Stream to Instagram from Sprii

      Instagram streaming is pretty simple if you follow these steps

      Prepare the stream

      Caution

      Do not prepare the stream settings more than 2 hours before the event starts as they will expire. 

      Note

      Stream setup on Instagram cannot be done from the mobile app. It must be done via the browser version for Instagram

       

      Step 1: From the streaming tab in your campaign settings, add the Instagram destination.

      Step 2: You will be asked to provide 2 pieces of information that are found on your Instagram page, so open Instagram.

      Step 3: Set up the live stream on your Instagram account and copy the details back to the streaming setting in Sprii:

      1. Create a live
      2. Add a name to the stream and choose "public"
      3. Copy the two keys to Sprii
      4. Don't close the Instagram window (Important)

      Caution

      The stream key is not static, and will refresh each time you use Live Producer

      With these 3 steps described above you are ready to go live as described in the next section

       

      Going live

      Start setting up the actual video feed 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.

      Step 1: Activate the "Before Show" overlay from your control centre

      Step 2: Start streaming from the "Sprii Host App" (or other external source if implemented)

      If Facebook is added as a destination, this stream will start without any extra steps. But for Instagram, there is one more step to do.

      Step 3: Go to your Instagram window/tab and confirm you see the video preview. It should be visible 20 sec after you see the "Before Show" in the "Sprii Host App"

      Now click "Go Live"

      When ready, all you need to do is:

      1. Unmute your mic.
      2. Stop the Before Show overlay in the Control Center.
      3. Start engaging.

      You can reply to comments from within the Sprii Campaign Control Centre

      Ending the stream

      When you wish to end the stream, just follow these steps

      Step 1: End stream from "Host App" on mobile device or in the control centre

      Step 2: End stream from the Instagram window where the setup was made. If you forget, don't worry. The stream will stop 5 min after step 1 if not done manually.

      Saving your live video as a reel (from the Instagram app)

      You can share your completed broadcast from within the Live Archive on Instagram. To access the Live Archive:

      1. While on your profile tap the menu (3 horizontal lines) button in the top right corner.
      2. Within this menu, tap the Archive button.
      3. Tap the dropdown at the top of the screen and switch from “Stories Archive” to “Live Archive.”
      4. You will then see your past completed live videos and be able to share to Instagram or download to your device.
         

      Tip

      If the video is posted within 30 minutes of the scheduled end time of the live event, the post will automatically connect to the Sprii Campaign, enabling continued shopping on demand.
