What are variants and why are they important?

Variants refer to different options for a product such as color and size.

The variants have names such as "indigo blue" or "small." Additionally, the variants have search words, which are the words your viewers type in the comment to specify what product they want to order. For instance, "blue" or "s".

The variant name and search term don't have to be the same. It's important that your search terms are simple and easy to remember so your customers can easily specify their desired variant when placing an order.

You can easily edit the search terms within a campaign or in your page settings.

How to edit your variant search terms (in a campaign)

Watch this short video to learn how to edit variant search terms or read our step-by-step guide below.

Here is an example of four variants of a product, which can easily be made shorter and easier for customers to remember. To avoid typos and mistakes, we'd suggest changing the variant search terms like this:

desert brown → brown
indigo blue → blue
strawberry red → red
sunflower yellow → yellow.

How to edit variants in bulk (in your page settings)

As mentioned, you're also able to edit all of your variants in the page settings.

Step 1

Go to your page settings and click on Product attributes.

Step 2

Here, you can quickly edit all your variants by clicking on the search term you want to change and type in your desired search term for the variant.

In the image, you can see that we updated the search terms for all four variants, so they're now called blue, yellow, red, and brown. Now, viewers can more easily place an order during your live show, as the search terms are short and simple.
