How to avoid unwanted links in the comment section

A lot of spam or scam comments have links in them that try to trigger an action from your viewers, this can be avoided by blocking incoming comments with links in them on your page. This does not affect the ability for you to post comments with links on your own page, it just blocks any other accounts from doing so.

Read on to learn how to block comments with links in them.

Step 1 - Log into your Facebook page

Inside of your Facebook account, you should navigate to the "professional dashboard" in the left-side menu. Make sure you are logged in to the business page where you want to block links.

Under the page dashboard, you will find "moderation assist", and when you click that you will be able to add new criteria(s) for moderation.

Moderation (3)

Step 2 - Add new moderation criteria

Once you press "add" under the moderation assist you will get a list of options. Here you want to pick the option called "link in comment".

Moderation (4)

Once clicked you will get a new pop-up asking you to review the criteria you are about to add to your moderation list. Simply click on 'Add to Moderation Assist'

Moderation (5)Done!

Following these steps, you've effectively enabled the feature preventing anyone from posting links in comments on your page's posts, live's, etc. This feature is made to fight against spam bots and maintain the integrity of your audience's interactions. Don't forget, this restriction doesn't apply to you as the page owner, should you wish to include a link in your comments.
